Entryway
Some of the
light switches in our house are wired
up strangely. This picture shows the
light
switch control on the wall by the front door.
This standard control has
two switches.
The switch closest to the front door turns
on the overhead hall light.
The
switch farthest away from the front door turns
on the porch light by the front door.
After
living here two years, I never really
got used to this backwards
light switch mapping. My solution
was to turn both lights on or off together.
At least they
both turned on and off
by flipping the switches the same way!
Design suggestion
A
basic rule for light switches is to have
a switch control the nearest light.
