Can you guess which side of the bar
to press to open the middle door?
There is no obvious visual
indication. If you press on the wrong side
(the side with the hinges) it is very difficult to
push open. It takes a lot of force.
Design suggestion
One
solution to this problem would be to
have an easy-to-push surface on the bar on the
side of the door that opens. This surface could
be a thickening of the bar or a flat plate, but it
should look like something that would be easier to
push than the basic bar. This would "invite" people
to push on the correct side of the bar.
